The Government of Alberta (GOA) has implemented a project to create digital mapping for public land dispositions, and digital submissions is now the standard for filing new dispositions.

 

Provincial coverage is scheduled for completion in 2009, including a regular maintenance cycle.  AltaLIS is responsible for the distribution of this product.

 

Surveyors have been submitting Registered Plans digitally for several years.  When a plan is registered at Alberta Land Titles, AltaLIS will receive a copy and integrate it into the Cadastral and Title mapping base. 

 

There are over 10,000 new plans of survey integrated each year.  AltaLIS is responsible to have the most up-to-date data available for distribution.
